Business start-ups management support
The policies currently implemented in Portugal to promote employment in order to combat high unemployment rates, encourage self-employment encompassing both new - graduated as those who are long-term unemployed.
The encouragement of the initiative spirit, entrepreneurship, the reinforcement of local, national and international economic fabric, the businesses empowerment complment the assumptions of the Entrepreneur Attendance – Level UP, as weall from the Strategic for the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Program.
The types of supports from which the promoters / entrepreneurs could use, are as follows:
IEFP - Institute of Employment and Professional Training - with the following support programs:
- Provide support to business creation (particularly small and very small enterprises), throughout guaranteed interest rate support;
- National Microcredit Program under the Program to Support the Development of Social Economy (PADES);
- Support to the creation of self-employment for beneficiaries of unemployment benefits.

IAPMEI - Institute for Support to Small and Medium Enterprises and to Innovation - in partnership with the Portuguese Youth Institute (IPJ), created the Youth FINICIA program that aims to facilitate access to financing and technical assistance in creating business solutions, or companies in the early stage of its life cycle.
